Steve Maxwell arrives today!
It’s gonna be Steve Maxwell week, folks!
Thanks to Steve for the kind greeting. I can’t wait for the people in the gym to meet him.
We brought him over with zero cooperation from the mainstream fitness community and we’re very proud to let people know that. This just goes to show that Formosa Fitness is the “little gym that could” and we’ll keep leading the way. We’ll let other mainstream gyms buy outrageously expensive “functional fitness units” that they don’t know how to use and won’t let people touch while we bring in the best and brightest just for you!
Anyone looking to add some zest to their gym or home fitness routines should join our short seminars with Steve:
300 Spartan Bodyweight Training — https://www.facebook.com/events/288129861288399/
Advanced Kettlebells — https://www.facebook.com/events/532193426806772/
Mobility Conditioning — https://www.facebook.com/events/120189738133343/
These seminars are only NT2000 each and that’s a bargain considering who you’re training with! We have a spots left so don’t miss out!
Look for more updates when Steve gets here. I’m so nervous. 🙂
Steve Maxwell says hello to Taiwan
We’re bringing him over on Oct27-28 for his new seminar on the fundamentals of human movement. Can’t wait!
What will you hear at Formosa Fitness?
A guest just commented to me that we were playing metal and apparently he was shocked. Haha. A gym goer that transferred from Taiwan’s biggest gym said the final straw was when he was doing barbell squats there and they played “It’s Raining Men” while he was squatting. That would do it for anyone serious.
So our music makes us different. What will you hear at Formosa Fitness? Well it won’t be that nauseating Chinese and KPop crap that every other gym here plays. Here’s what we like:
Your workout environment should make you STRONGER, not weaker! I swear I lift 10% more when Scar Symmetry is playing. Reject the weak, embrace the strong and workout with us!!
We’re on the news! ETTV
ETTV came yesterday and shot over an hour of footage. They wanted to know all sorts of things about kettlebells and suspension resistance training. We were happy to oblige!
I’ve never seen a TV crew more interested in the kettlebell and STX suspension trainer as I saw yesterday. They really asked a lot of detailed questions, interviewed me and my two trainers extensively, and learned how to do a lot of exercises over about a two hour period of time. Yeah, it was the longest visit yet.
The crew really seemed to appreciate what we were showing them. It was obvious that they realized we’re a completely different gym. And that’s so rewarding for me as the owner of Formosa Fitness. I really want folks to understand how different we are and WHY this type of fitness is so useful. In short — it really does get you fit! So it was great to see the TV news crew “get it” about what makes us special.
So thanks to ETTV for their interest and thanks to our trainers for their help!
Steve Maxwell is coming!
Very excited to be bringing Steve Maxwell to Taiwan for a 2 day seminar and certification — the Fundamentals of Human Movement. The Facebook event page is here.
Steve is one of the real pioneers in fitness. He was apparently Pavel’s first Senior RKC instructor, one of the first American black belts in BJJ, opened the first kettlebell gym in the States, etc., etc. He even has a master’s degree in exercise science.
Here he is at an RKC cert back in the day:
His part is at the end where he leads the candidates through a grueling bear crawl/swing circuit across the length of a football field. Wow.
Steve has written extensively about fitness training for BJJ and MMA. Here’s just a sample:
Here Steve is training Joe Rogan of Fear Factor and UFC fame.
He’s also very well known to the general fitness public for his many fitness DVDs on bodyweight training, kettlebells, mobility, etc.
Steve’s DVD are available here.
So if you’re looking for a great seminar to get your fitness to the next level or if you’re a trainer looking to get better results with clients, this is a don’t miss opportunity! Hope to see you there!
