Clubs are going for good, get them now!

Get them while you can!!

I’m getting out of the club business. The prices and minimum order have gone way beyond what I can afford to carry. I have a limited number of clubs at the various sizes left and this will be it. When these are gone, there will be no more. If you want clubs, this may be your last chance ever to get them, especially the 25kg since that isn’t available any where else on earth. So contact us now. Thanks!

Training log

Below is what I did yesterday. I’m pretty sore today. Jeans and shirt feel tight. When your chest and arms grow from a leg workout, you know you’re doing something right. 🙂

squat
warmup 5×50
3×70
5x10x80kg

deadlift
5×112.5
5×120
5x130kg
hanging bent leg raises: 15, 15, 12
36kg Kb swing 5×20
I switched to the Juggernaut program and used the 531 option for accessory lifts. So I’m basically doing Juggernaut and 531 at the same time. Brutal and loving it.

Coming soon: Formosa Fitness 3.0

It’s official: we’re expanding. We signed the lease last Friday and ordered the bulk of the new equipment last night. A few more equipment purchases and a heck of a lot of work over the next two months and we’re good to go.

We’re expanding for many reasons. One, my personal training journey has expanded. I no longer just do kettlebells. I train them in a larger context of barbells, rings, etc. These days I do strength training first and then kettlebells, etc. Before, I combined strength with endurance through kettlebell training because that combo is what they are good at. But after I could press double 32kg I felt it was time to switch to barbells. And now the sky is the limit.

This is also me going deeper back to the roots. Olympic lifting is next on my list to learn and that is the root of kettlebell training. Snatch and clean and jerk aren’t the two main lifts of kettlebells by accident! The training comes from Olympic lifting.

Second, my ideas about the business have expanded. The number one request I get from folks is to have an open gym where people can come in and train on their own. Well, we’re about to open that. The plan is to be open from 7am to 9pm at night M-F with reduced hours on the weekend. We will charge a monthly fee to use the gym and that will make this style of training more open to the public. The idea is to spread a style of training that really gets you FIT.

Personally I can’t wait. The facilities to do this type of training don’t exist anywhere in Taiwan and I’m so proud and honored to be bringing them here. The folks in Taiwan deserve to have an choice and the mainstream fitness industry here isn’t going to do that. We’re pleased to bring you an option you can’t get anywhere else!

Anyway, back to the work and I’ll keep you posted. Lots to do.

Training log 1/30/2012

I did squat today:

5×40, 60kg
3×80
5×95
3×117.5
7x130kg A new PR!
deadlift 80kg 5×10
walked 60:00

I didn’t feel like killing it conditioning wise today. I was really surprised by the squat. I tried to squat yesterday and I was stressed out and had no energy. 100kg felt like a ton. Today was looking much better and I went for it. My projected max is now 160kg — the highest it’s ever been. Funny how much a single day can make, isn’t it?

On other fronts, the year of the dragon is going to be a very interesting year……yes, VERY interesting. Hahahahaha!
